Air Filter

There are two types of air filters you can purchase for your vehicle: disposable air filters and reusable air filters. Disposable air filters are just that: use them once and throw them away. Depending on your vehicle manufacturer recommendations and your driving style, your throw away air filter will need to be changed approximately once per year or about once every 12,000 miles. If you plan on keeping your vehicle for several years, you can easily go through 10 to 15 air filters during that time. Periodically, you must wash and dry these types of air filters and then place them back in your car. Reusable air filters normally cost between 2 and 5 times the price of a disposable air filter. The benefits of a reusable air filter include: cutting down on environmental waste as disposable air filters contribute to landfill waste, while reusable air filters typically are the last air filter any car will ever need; they are cost effective as you pay more up front but save in the long run if you keep your vehicle for many years; they contribute to increases in horsepower and acceleration.
